About Terri Finnigan, LMFT

Throughout my professional career, I’ve worked with a diverse population, including artists, children, and the corporate community. After receiving my undergraduate degree from Boston University in Film & Television, I worked in the entertainment industry with actors, writers, producers, and musicians.

Once I realized my true passion was in psychology and the art of psychotherapy, I earned my master’s degree in psychology from Phillips Graduate Institute. During my studies, I worked as a trainee with the California Family Counseling Center and the Los Angeles Unified School District counseling children. As a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, I began my private practice in Los Angeles and was a therapist at the Los Angeles LGBT Center, the world's largest provider of programs and services for the LGBTQ community.

Currently, I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California state (LMFT 87595) and a provisionally licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Florida state (PMT172). I work with individuals (including adults, adolescents, and children), couples, and families in a private practice setting. I have special interests in working with artists and the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) community on issues related to anxiety, depression, romantic relationships, family tension, cultural oppression, and gender identity. I also have a special interest in working with couples and individuals who are considering, or are in the process of, creating families.
